Marquette Township Fire Department reminding residents to change clocks and batteriesMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The City of Marquette Fire Department is reminding residents to “Change Your Clock, Change Your Battery” this weekend as we adjust to Eastern Daylight time on Sunday.

The annual campaign reminds residents that battery replacement in their smoke detectors is part of a sound home safety strategy.

This year, Energizer Battery has donated three cases of 9 volt batteries for use during this promotion. Working smoke detectors double your chances of surviving a house fire. Call or stop by the Marquette Fire Department on Third Street, for a free battery.

The batteries will be given one per household as long as supplies last.
