MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Michigan State Police are investigating another reported Downstate freeway shooting along I-96 this morning – this time near Brighton.
The shooting reportedly happened along I-96 near US-23 and Kensington. More than 80 members of law enforcement are now working on the case of the I-96 shooter, following over 24 reports of cars being fired at across four counties. Most of the shootings took place near the freeway; apparently at random.
On Saturday afternoon, 46-year-old Scott Arnold of Delton was shot while heading to Game Three of the World Series in Detroit. He was hospitalized for a day and released Sunday.
So far, police have received reports of 23 shootings in the Downstate I-96 corridor in Oakland, Livingston, Shiawassee and Ingham Counties.
