Marquette Township, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Marquette County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash yesterday in Marquette Towsnhip.
It happened just after 11:30 a.m. on eastbound US-41 in front of the Ojibwa Express Gas Station.
An eastbound pickup truck, driven by 78-year-old Michael Vilona of East Troy, Wisconsin was in the center turn lane preparing to merge into eastbound traffic.
The pickup failed to yield and pulled into the path of an SUV driven by 37-year-old Jamie Tasson of Ishpeming.
The two vehicles left the roadway and ended up in the ditch.
Vilona was ticketed for Failure to Yield and eastbound traffic on US-41 was reduced to one lane for a short time.
