Unemployment Rates in Michigan Fall for September

    Seasonally unadjusted unemployment rates for SeptemberMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Seasonally unadjusted unemployment rates fell in all of Michigan’s 17 major labor market areas in September.

    According to the Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget, typical labor market patterns were evident in September throughout Michigan’s local areas however since September 2011.

    The Ann Arbor area had the state’s lowest jobless rate last month at five percent while the metro Detroit area had the highest at 10 percent.

    The rate for the U.P. for the period was 7.2 percent.  Marquette County’s rate was 6.2 percent. Michigan’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in August was 9.3 percent.
