In true hockey fashion, this game got HOT on the ice!
Marquette, MI – March 09, 2022 – After three exciting periods in last night’s Pigs-N-Heat hockey game, the Pigs came out on top with a big win. Congratulations to the law enforcement officers who battled it out hardest on the ice with a 10-6 victory over the firefighters.
Plenty of action on the ice at Lakeview Arena.
Pigs-N-Heat celebrated its 38th anniversary last night after taking a one-year break due to the coronavirus pandemic. This Charity hockey event raises thousands of dollars each year for the Marquette County Fire Relief Fund.
The National Anthem was sung by Sandy Knoll Elementary students.
These funds are given to families in need who have lost their homes to fires and can support families with hotel costs & groceries and to help those families get back on their feet, and nearly two years since the last game, this year’s game was critical to help restoring this critical community fund.
Sections of Lakeview Arena were totally packed!
Thousands showed up to show their support and enthusiasm for the event and support the community, and organizers say this year’s game raised at least $15,000.
Pigs-N-Heat is made possible every year by dedicated members of the Marquette Community and beyond! If you weren’t able to go, or would like to help support this cause, please check out the official Pigs-N-Heat website for more information about the event.
