MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Michigan State Police at the Negaunee Post are reporting a two-vehicle accident yesterday evening in Marquette Township.
The accident happened around 6 p.m. at the intersection of Ontario and Center streets. Troopers say a westbound car on Center Street, driven by a 19-year-old Marquette woman, had stopped at the stop sign at the intersection. She then pulled out into the path of a southbound car on Ontario, driven by a 62-year-old Marquette man.
His car struck the woman’s car on the passenger side. Troopers say she was not injured but the man was taken to MGH for treatment of neck injuries.
The woman was ticketed for failure to yield and the accident remains under investigation. No names have been released.
