Senator Levin pleased with the Keweenaw National Historical ParkMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – 20 years after the start of the Keweenaw National Historical Park in the Upper Peninsula, Michigan U.S. Senator Carl Levin says he is pleased with the development of the park and local communities.
Levin was a guest speaker at an event Saturday in Calumet commemorating the anniversary. The Detroit Democrat was in Calumet more than 20 years ago with the late Congressman Bob Davis to announce the creation of the park.

Levin says it’s good to remember the historical impact that mining copper had on the country, the wealth that was generated from the area and the labor strife that impacted national labor issues.
