MI Senator Tom Casperson Discusses Run For Congress, Dark Stores And More

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State Senator Tom Casperson stopped in at the Great Lakes radio studios this morning while he was in town for the UP EMS Conference at Northern Michigan University.

    Casperson sat down for a cup of coffee and talked about a wide array of legislative matters he is working on in Lansing, and he even discussed his plans for running for Congress.

    Key topics included his legislation addressing the “Dark Stores” tax valuation issue, the EPA nosing in on emissions from backyard barbecues and grills, and an effort to get the US Forest Service to renew leases for hunting camp properties in the Ottawa National Forest.

    He also shared his thoughts on running for the U.S. House of Representatives in the next election in a bid to take over after current Congressman Dan Benishek retires at the end of this term.
