MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Jack Hubbard, Republican running for the Michigan House of Representatives, joined Great Lakes Radio News Director Walt Lindala recently to chat about his candidacy for the 109th District.

Hubbard talked about his background as a native of Marquette and a long-time business owner in Grand Marais in Alger County and his time as the Township Supervisor of Burt Township in Alger County as a base for effectively serving the district in Lansing.

He also outlined the key issues he sees as the major items to address when he is elected. These include getting Michigan back to “common sense regulations”.  Meaning that he is in favor of regulations that cover business and environmental development, but not to the point that they hamper business development in the state.

    1. I see business regulations as your first priority. You don’t say in your campaign if you’re Democrat or Republican. Smart move but if you are Republican you’re for not paying big and middle size businesses taxes and let the middle-class suffer. You sound sincere but get off it. All I hear from the Republicans is “MAYBE”. That’s not acceptable. Good luck on your campaign.

    2. Jack is a fighter for jobs in the UP and at the same time, he recognizes the need for what he calls “common sense regulation.” This applies to both businesses and individuals… especially the middle class. He’s one of the most responsible candidates I know. Not sure what steves means by “maybe”, but ambivalence is not a word in Jack’s vocabulary.
