MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Beacon House, a non-profit hospitality home in Marquette, MI for families of patients of area hospitals, is holding a unique fundraiser on Saturday, August 11th.

“Roar The Shore” will feature a ride around Marquette and Alger Counties for motorcycle enthusiasts to take part in and have fun raising money for the Beacon House.

Similar to a poker run, the event will feature stops in several locations with riders having to gather words to create a complete statement by the end of the ride.

Mary Dowling, all around Beacon House advocate and promoter, joined the SUNNY Morning Show today to discuss the event and encourage listeners to consider taking part.

Mary explained how the Beacon House is completely funded by fundraising efforts and contributions and is run by volunteers and that there is always room for those who want to help out by giving of  their time and financial support.
