Houghton, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A downstate man was the victim of an apparent drowning in Lake Superior yesterday.
49-year-old Andrew Kneeshaw of Grand Blanc died in the incident reported near the shore of McLain State Park in Houghton County.
Reports say Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call about a stranded swimmer yelling for help off the shore of the park around 12:50 yesterday afternoon.
A nearby surfer assisted Kneeshaw back to shore and began CPR.
He was then taken to Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital in Laurium where he was pronounced dead.
