Fatal Traffic Crash In Alger County

    Chatham, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Michigan State Police responded to a fatal traffic accident last night in Alger County.

    The accident happened after 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of M-94 and M-67 when a westbound vehicle on M-94, driven by 50-year-old Peggy Sue Larsen of Skandia, slowed or stopped at the stop sign at the intersection.

    The vehicle then continued into the intersection into the path of a northbound vehicle.

    The westbound vehicle was hit directly in the driver’s side door and both vehicles went off the road and hit an electric pole.

    Larsen was killed in the accident.

    The driver of the other vehicle and a passenger were not injured.

    The investigation is continuing.
