Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio) – On our latest edition of NMU Wildcat Wednesday, we heard about the ROTC Program and from one of the cadets who is currently enrolled.

Lt. Colonel Jon Rastall, Department Head of Military Science at NMU, explained what the ROTC program is all about and how to get involved.

Rastall explained that ROTC, the Reserve Officer Training Corps, is a college and university-based officer training program for training commissioned officers of the United States Armed Forces.

He talked about the program at NMU and some of it’s specifics and how it works to teach leadership skills useful in many walks of life.

Also joining the conversation was Cadet Taylor Kalchik, who is an NMU student enrolled in the program.

She shared how the program has been a benefit to her as a student and how it is helping to shape her future career path.
