Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Dr. Michael Harrington, Department Head of the Criminal Justice and Loss Prevention Management programs at Northern Michigan University joined us today for the latest installment of “Wildcat Wednesday”.
Harrington discussed obtaining a degree in criminal justice or loss prevention management and how it can open doors to a variety of careers.
He explained that a degree in the field of study could be used in a career in law enforcement, corrections, probation, military intelligence, homeland security or the courts.
He also explained how private-sector opportunities in loss prevention, corporate security or insurance and fraud investigation are possibilities.
Harrington said the courses in the programs at NMU are taught by professors with real-world experience and most courses are offered online or at convenient times on campus.
