Marquette, MI – August 28, 2020 – This Monday, August 31st, is International Overdose Awareness Day and we recently spoke with Erin Wright, Great Lakes Recovery Centers Nurse Practitioner about the day. Wright explained the significance of the day and how it is intended to get the word out about the issues of drug addiction and the risks of overdose.
She added that local “Communities that Care” coalitions will be distributing free Narcan on Monday in communities around the region. Wright explained what Narcan is, what it does and how to use it and she outlined some of the major signs and symptoms of opioid overdose.
