Marquette, MI – August 13, 2020 – The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, also known as GLIAC, has officially suspending all sports competition until January of next year. The council of presidents voted unanimously on the decision yesterday.
The decision means that Northern Michigan University and several other state universities will have to wait until 2021 to resume their athletic programs. The winter and spring sports competition calendar will be announced at a later date.
NMU Athletic Director Forrest Karr shared some of his thoughts on what it all means for Wildcat sports with mediaBrew’s Luke Ghiardi and Tyler Young.
