Marquette, MI – July 22, 2020 – Mary Dowling, CEO of the Steve Mariucci Family Beacon House, joined Mark & Walt in the Morning to share an update on the capital campaign to build the hospitality facility adjacent to the UPHS-Marquette hospital.
Dowling explained that, so far, just about $3 million has been raised for the effort, which means they can move into the groundbreaking phase. She added that groundbreaking is pending final construction and permit approval from the City of Marquette, which is expected later this month. That should allow for the groundbreaking to happen some time in August.
Dowling said the $3 million raised so far will allow for the preliminary building of the facility, but another $2 million will be needed to finish and furnish it. As a result, the “Help Us Make It Home” campaign is underway, and information on how to donate is available on the Beacon House website.
