Marquette, MI – (04/06/20) – Governor Gretchen Whitmer joined Mark & Walt in the Morning today to share the latest information about the state’s COVID-19 management efforts.
Whitmer continued to reiterate the importance of staying home as much as possible, following social distancing guidelines, regularly washing hands and disinfecting high traffic areas in your home.
When asked about her proposed extension of Michigan’s State of Emergency declaration for 70 days, Whitmer explained that by placing that amount of days into effect, it would allow state government to remain nimble in their response efforts. She added that it DOES NOT mean that the “Stay Home Stay Safe” order will remain in effect for that period of time.
Whitmer wrapped up by reminding area residents that we can go outside to go for walks or runs as well as bike rides and more, but to make sure you follow the CDC’s recommended guidelines for effective social distancing.
