Marquette Firefighters Out To Fill The Boot For The Muscular Dystrophy Association

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The City of Marquette Fire Department is showing its support for the Muscular Dystrophy Association as its members kick off the annual Fill the Boot fundraising campaign to help kids and adults with muscular dystrophy, ALS and related muscle-debilitating diseases live longer and grow stronger.

8 firefighters are taking to the streets with boots in hand toady and tomorrow asking pedestrians, motorists, customers and other passersby to make a donation to MDA

MFD Firefighter/Paramedics Brett Beaudry and Pete Windsor joined the Sunny Morning Show today to talk about the effort.

Beaudry said the firefighters will be out today during Blueberry Fest and tomorrow while people are in town for Art on the Rocks and the Outback Art Fair at the following intersections:

Friday, July 26, 2019 from 2-6pm at Cleveland & McClellan and Third & Hewitt, and Saturday, July 27, 2019 from 12-4pm at Pine & Fair, Third & Hewitt and Front & Washington.

Windsor added that the Marquette City Fire Department always does well on a state level with money raised thanks to the generosity of the community, saying last year, they received donations totaling over $13,000.
