Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Marquette City Manager Mike Angeli joined the Sunny Morning Show this week and talked about the changes to the ordinance addressing parking problems on Peter White Drive at Presque Isle Park.

Angeli said the recent 4th of July holiday weekend was a good test for the ordinance that is designed to alleviate illegal parking that causes traffic congestion on the island near the Black Rocks and Sunset Point areas of the park.

He added that there were several drivers who violated to parking ordinance, but they were ticketed by the Park Patrol and Marquette Police as enforcement efforts have been increased.

Angeli said he believes that ticketing of violators will work in sending the message that if drivers park in areas that are not designated parking spots, they will be subject to fines, and the problem will eventually be taken care of.
