Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio) – On our latest Active Physical Therapy Update, Sarah Goupil, physical therapist at the Active office in Ishpeming, joined the Sunny Morning Show to talk about the importance of good posture.
Goupil said that our overall wellness and generally feeling good has a lot to do with our posture.
She explained that when out posture is out of line, the muscles in the neck and chest can tighten and become sore, our back muscles will be strained, and bad posture can even affect our legs and our butt muscles.
Goupil added that we usually have bad posture through our days due to bad body positioning, slouching, and there’s even something known as “text neck”, which comes from bowing down our heads to look at our phones and other electronic devices when we send and receive messages.
She said there are a series of exercises and stretches that can be done as part of an effective physical therapy routine to counteract these strains and aches, and she recommended finding out more through your doctor.
