Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio) – Michelle Butler, Co-Owner of Vango’s Pizza and Cocktail Lounge, joined the Sunny Morning Show today to talk about the history of the restaurant and it’s place in the Marquette community.
Butler said Vango’s is the oldest restaurant running in Marquette under the same family name, as it was started up in the 1950’s when Clark Lambros purchased it when it was known as Bimbo’s and was primarily a pizza place.
She said Lambros soon changed the name in honor of his father, and introduced dishes beholden to his Greek heritage, such as gyros, dolmathes and Greek salad while maintaining popular pizzas and other favorites.
Butler also talked about many of the restaurant’s daily specials and reminded listeners that they can also do catering for events and parties.
