Inaugural Winter Roots Festival This Saturday In Marquette

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A day of roots and folk music, dance and workshops is happening this Saturday at venues throughout downtown Marquette.

Dan Truckey, Director of the Beaumier U.P. Heritage Center at Northern Michigan University, joined the Sunny Morning Show today to preview this Saturday’s Winter Roots Festival.

Truckey said several groups have all come together to produce a full schedule of artists performing and hosting workshops around Marquette in venues such as the Peter White Public Library, the Downtown Marquette Commons and the Ore Dock Brewing Company.

He added that there will also be a special, not-to-be-missed performance Saturday evening with the Marquette Symphony Orchestra at Kaufman Auditorium.
