Firefighters responded to a structure fire this morning in Marquette County.  Fire crews from the Richmond Township and Negaunee Township fire departments were called out around 9:30 this morning to the fire at a large garage-type structure in Palmer.  No injuries were reported, but the structure was a complete loss.  The investigation into the cause of the fire is continuing.

State Police arrested an Upper Peninsula man after an investigation revealed he allegedly used Facebook to entice a 14-year-old Gaylord girl to send nude photos of herself to him.  Authorities say 57-year-old Danny Roll of Marquette convinced the victim to send him photographs of herself in the nude, as well as clothed, under the pretext of using them to draw pictures of her.  He’s being held in the Otsego county jail pending arraignment on charges of accosting a child for immoral purposes, promoting sexually abusive child activity and using a computer to commit a crime.

The Department of Natural Resources reminds anglers that a new license season begins this Sunday. Anglers have a choice of a variety of licenses and prices are unchanged from last year. Fishing license options include your choice of a 24-hour or 72-hour license good for all species, season-long restricted license or a season-long, unrestricted license good for all species. An additional free lake sturgeon tag is required of anglers who fish for lake sturgeon.  For more on the licenses and regulations, contact your local D-N-R field office.

The Michigan Department of Transportation has released their annual map of road construction projects around the state. The print version of the map will be available at all M-DOT Transportation Service Centers and region offices, as well as at all Welcome Centers. Welcome Centers in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula will have maps available starting in early May. The map also is available for viewing at state rest areas. Information on the map is current at the time of printing.  You can also download a copy of the 2012 map from the “Maps and Publications” section of the MDOT Web site at michigan.gov/drive.
