Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio) – Injuries due to playing a popular sport in our area were the topic of the latest Active Physical Therapy update on the Sunny Morning Show today.

Joe Lewis and Ryan Lowery of Active Physical Therapy chatted with Mark Evans about injuries common in the sport of ice hockey.

Lewis and Lowery talked about the most common injuries they see that are caused by injuries that happen when people are playing the game.

They also talked about concussions and how common they are in hockey, even though they are not reported as often in comparison to other sports such as football.

Lewis and Lowery added that the best ways to prevent injuries while playing hockey are to maintain physical fitness and conditioning and to do “heads up ” skating, which means to keep your head up out on the ice to stay aware to avoid possible injury-causing collisions.
