Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette Rockestra is putting on the grooviest benefit of the year this Friday night, when it plays “Songs of the 70s” to raise funds for the Room at the Inn’s Warming Center in Marquette.
Event Coordinator Dan Truckey and Room at the Inn Executive Director Doug Russell joined the Sunny Morning Show today to talk about the evening.
Truckey said the show features several of Marquette’s top musicians performing music from the ’70’s in multiple styles and genres.
Russell said as the winter season approaches, Room at the Inn’s Warming Center has a greater need than ever to provide services for Marquette’s homeless community, and it’s all funded by donations and contributions and receives no formal agency funds.
He added that events like this one are key in their mission to help the homeless in the area.
Truckey said there is suggested donation of $10 at the door, and all ages welcome with guardian.
The show starts at 8:00 p.m. this Friday, November 30th, at the Ore Dock Brewing Co. in Marquette.
