Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Marquette City Firefighters responded to a house fire last night in South Marquette.
The call came in just after 6:00 p.m. of a report of smoke coming from a residence at 300 Altamont Street.
Upon arrival firefighters found smoke coming from two sides of the structure.
The homeowner told firefighters that all occupants were out of the structure safely.
The fire was located in the basement of the home and was under control within fifteen minutes.
The house sustained moderate fire and smoke damage to the basement area and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
No injuries were reported. The “Pigs and Heat” Fire Relief Fund will be assisting the family.
