MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Upper Peninsula Power Company says well over 1,000 customers lost power overnight in the Copper Country due to high winds.
According to a statement from UPPCO, about 1,300 customers in Houghton and Keweenaw Counties were without power this morning due to strong winds blowing trees and limbs on wires.
Crews were sent out immediately to repair the damages and restore the power as soon as possible. At last report, UPPCO says all affected areas have had the power restored.
