UPPCO says the Western U.P. should have power back

MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Upper Peninsula Power Company says power should be restored to all affected areas in Western Marquette County that had a power outage yesterday evening and overnight.

UPPCO says crews worked through the night restoring power to over 800 customers in Ishpeming, Ishpeming Township and Ely Township.

The power was knocked out to those customers around 6 p.m. yesterday due to a fire on a utility pole.  The cause of the fire on the utility pole is unknown at this time.
