MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Word today that Marquette City Police are treating the death of a Marquette man as suspicious.

As the investigation is continuing into the death of 34-year-old Shawn Dollar, reports say police are considering his death as suspicious in nature because of the way the body was found and the uncertainty of of how he died.

Dollar had been last seen in the Marquette area on Saturday, September 8, but had been reported missing last Thursday.  His body was located in a vacant building at 231 West Washington Street in downtown Marquette last Friday.

His identity was confirmed through an autopsy over the weekend and authorities are continuing to withhold the cause of death.
