MARQUETTE, MI — (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office is reporting a fatal Off Road Vehicle accident that happened over the weekend in Champion Township.
The accident happened just before 5:30 p.m. Saturday on the Clear Lake Access Road. A 51-year-old Ishpeming man was riding a four-wheeler toward Clear Lake and was coming around a curve that went downhill when the ORV went out of control.
The four-wheeler struck a tree on the shoulder of the road. The man was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The name of the man has not been released and the accident remains under investigation.
