Multi-Agency Water Rescue Training Today in Marquette


Mulit-agency rescue training session today

MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette City Fire Department is letting the public know that they are holding an multi-agency water rescue training today in the city.

Several agencies, including firefighters, police, EMS and lifeguards are coming together for the exercise today from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Picnic Rocks Park on the Lake Superior shoreline.

Fire Chief Tom Belt says the training will simulate the rescue of individuals from the lake near Picnic Rocks and access to the park’s parking lot will be restricted during the training session.  The department is reminding residents today’s activity will only be a training.
