MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Upper Peninsula State Fair in Escanaba is underway.
This year marks the fair’s third anniversary under regional management. Fair officials say in the area of retail and food vendors, new layouts, new and expanded vendor offerings and the return of old favorites are the three big stories that add up to more great options for fair goers looking to pick up great deals and fill up on signature fair food.
The fair, which began in 1928, runs through Sunday. The fair is now governed by the Upper Peninsula State Fair Authority with representatives from all fifteen counties in the Upper Peninsula and the Hannahville Indian Community.
