Man Arraigned After an Accident Injuring a 64 Year-Old Woman in Ishpeming

MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The driver in an accident earlier this week in Ishpeming that injured one woman was arraigned yesterday in 96th District Court.

50-year-old Richard Charles Jordan of Ely Township was charged with driving on a denied or revoked license causing serious injury, which is a felony punishable by up to five years in prison.  He is being held at the Marquette County Jail on $100,000 cash bond.

64-year-old Linda Marie Vanginkel of National Mine was hospitalized Wednesday when she was struck by the pickup truck driven by Jordan as she was crossing North Third Street in Ishpeming near The U.S. Ski Hall of Fame around noon. At last report Vanginkel was in critical condition.

Jordan faces a preliminary exam on August 2nd.
