MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – An Alger County man was arraigned yesterday on charges connected to the embezzlement of funds from the Manistique Moose Lodge.
56-year-old Ray Hayford of Wetmore was arraigned in 93rd District Court on four counts of forgery and one count of embezzlement of more than $1000 but less than $20,000. He faces up to 14 years behind bars for each count of forgery plus a maximum of 10 years in prison for the embezzlement charge.
Hayford is lodged in the Schoolcraft County Jail. He was arrested after a joint investigation by the Schoolcraft County Sheriff’s Department and Michigan State Police from the Manistique Detachment.
