SAIL – The Disability Network Of The U.P. Presents Resources For Disabled Voters

Marquette, MI – October 15, 2020 – SAIL – The Disability Network of the U.P. has created an online clearinghouse for information on voting for disabled members of the community.

Executive Director Sarah Peurakoski joined Mark & Walt in the Morning today to talk about the initiative.  Peurakoski said it grew out of one of the agency’s core services, which is to provide information and referral to persons in the region.

She explained that since SAIL is a center for independent living that receives state and federal funds, they cannot endorse nor promote candidates in any election.

Peurakoski said that they can, however, provide information and support to the disability community with resources on how to register and ultimately, vote, in the upcoming November election.
