Marquette, MI – October 8, 2020 – Fundraising to pay for the clean up and repair of the Vista Theater following the collapse of the roof on their building in downtown Negaunee is continuing.

Rusty Bowers, President of the Vista Theater’s Advisory Board, joined Mark & Walt in the Morning today to share an update on the latest efforts.

Bowers said the response to a GoFundMe page has been good so far, raising about $40,000 of a $100,000 goal, with the money coming from several individuals, groups and businesses to help the theater start the needed debris removal and site preparation before winter comes.

He added that there is a returnable can and bottle drive going on until October 18th to help out, with drop-off locations at Super One in Negaunee and the fruit and vegetable stand across from the Ishpeming Armory.

There will also be on-site drives this Friday from 2pm to 7pm at Super One in Negaunee and Sunday from Noon to 5pm at Econo Foods in Marquette.
