Marquette, MI – July 3, 2018 – We went down to Marquette’s Lower Harbor this evening to check out the 33rd Annual International Food Festival. Promoting this event along side the hosts, the Marquette Exchange Club, we broadcasted about the event on every one of our eight major stations!
Running July 2nd through the 4th, this years event is already a huge success with thousands of people coming through the park in the last few days. Visitors are coming for the live music and the unique chance to taste flavors from all over the world in one convenient and beautiful place. Vendors from Marquette County have tents set up for you to try their delicious food including Asian, Italian, Mexican, and American inspired dishes!
Tonight the park was full of families enjoying the wonderful summer weather, the good food, and the family fun zone put up by Marquette’s newest shopping center, Meijer. With one full day left of International Food Fest left and a whole new group of local artists ready to play for you, grab the whole family and get down to Ellwood Mattson Lower Harbor!
Purchase a bag of tokens are the gate and try the saucy General’s Chicken from K’s Oriental or cool down with Jilbert Ice Cream at the Noquemanon Trail Network booth! My personal favorite was the unique sweet and spicy “fall off the bone” pork ribs from The Delft Bistro. The ribs weren’t what I was expecting but they were a welcome surprise.
Make sure to come down and enjoy the fun leading up to Marquette’s annual parade and fireworks display! Wednesday’s parade starts at 2pm going down Washington Street in Marquette. Fireworks at the Lower Harbor will begin at dusk with a massive display over the old Ore Dock. Get there early for a good seat!
