Negaunee, Michigan – May 8, 2019 – If you’ve ever heard of the “Captain Underpants” books, you may have heard of the “Dog Man” books, both written and illustrated by Dav Pilkey.
“Dog Man” is a graphic novel series, and “Captain Underpants” is a book series with many illustrations thrown in.
They are a little boy’s dream, chock full of bathroom humor, dumb humor, and classic silly jokes.
My 7-year-old son loves them. And if you are a parent,
you’re aware that all of that translates into real life for children – like bathroom
jokes. Poop and pee are apparently hilarious.
Such is the life of a boy mom.
You’re on my *list*, Dav Pilkey.
Currently, he’s reading a “Dog Man” book that has a character named “Lil’ Petey,” who sometimes is referred to as “Cat Kid.”
Lil’ Petey is young kitten in the books, and is going through what parents *lovingly* refer to as the “why” phase of toddler/young childhood.
EVERYTHING is answered or replied to with “why.”
PARENT: You need to put your shoes on.
CHILD: Why?
PARENT: Because I said so.
CHILD: Why?
PARENT: Because otherwise your feet will get dirty and wet.
CHILD: Why?
PARENT: Because there’s dirt on the ground and it’s raining.
CHILD: Why?
PARENT:………
You get the picture.
Curse you, Lil’ Petey.
