Negaunee, Michigan – November 13, 2018 – I have a relatively small immediate family. There’s my grandparents on my mom’s side, my grandparents on my dad’s side, my aunt and four cousins (who live in Wisconsin), my parents, my two sisters, my sister’s boyfriend, myself, my nephew, my son, and my husband. That makes for 18 people. (Let’s not even delve into my husband’s side; there are so many people I’m not even sure I’ve met them all yet, and we’ve been together nearly 9 years.)
However, my aunt and cousins cannot always make it here for the holiday, so that equates to 13 people at the Thanksgiving dinner table. Every year for Thanksgiving, it is my family’s tradition to go to my mom’s parents’ home. But they recently sold their home in favor of a small apartment closer to us, as their house is out in Richmond Township. So, Thanksgiving dinner will be hosted by my parents at their home this year!
My husband and I always visit his side of the family as well. But this year, our moms agreed to make it easy on us – his mom will have dinner at her house on Thanksgiving day, and my mom will have dinner at her house the Friday after. HALLELUJAH!
Here’s to enjoying a relaxing holiday next week!
