Negaunee, MichiganNovember 8, 2018 – It’s no secret I’m not exactly excited about the impending doom known as Upper Peninsula snow. It’s cold, wet, miserable to drive in, and miserable to shovel or plow.

However, I do remember a time when I would look forward to the snow. As a child, all you know about snow is that you must get bundled up before you go outside. That’s all you have to worry about! Then, it’s literally all fun and games outside in the white stuff.

Snow angels, forts, snowball fights, snowmen, sledding, skating, snowmobiles, etc. The list goes on and on of all of the fun things to do in the snow. And all children know that once the snow flies, the holidays are on their way – and who doesn’t like the holidays?!

I guess winter really isn’t as terrible as it seems when seen through the eyes of a child. I know my 7-year-old, Holden, loves winter. He looks forward to snow, winter activities, and Christmas!

I just need to switch my perspective to enjoy winter, I suppose.

What are your favorite things to do in winter?

Keep up with me on The Sunny Morning Show weekdays 6-10AM on Sunny.fm 101.9.
