MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Skerbeck Brothers Spring Carnival being held this weekend in Downtown Ishpeming will be giving community residents a chance to have some fun and help out some important services.
One of the recipients of the proceeds raised by the carnival is the Ishpeming Volunteer Fire Department. They have been involved with the carnival as a beneficiary for several years.
Fire Department Chief Ed Anderson chatted with Great Lakes Radio today to explain why the funds are important and how they are used. He also talked about the need for the funding as traditional sources of funding continue to decrease on the municipal level.
