Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Marquette Area Public Schools teachers and staff will soon be receiving gear that will increase the safety of students.
MAPS Superintendent William Saunders joined the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike today as part of the ongoing Tuesday Superintendent Series to give an update on things going on in the district.
Saunders said the district recently received a grant to give teachers and staff so-called “panic pendants” which allow teachers to send a wireless message about emergency situations in seconds.
He also talked about the consideration by the MAPS Board of Education of a plan to allow alcohol at certain gatherings on school grounds that are rented out by a third party or group.
