Marquette, MI – June 25, 2026 – Tonight is the night for the ribbon cutting and inaugural Marquette City Band concert at the new Peg Hirvonen Band Shell in Marquette.
Grugin explained that The $2.3 million facility has been built at the site of the original band shell at Presque Isle Park, and funding for the project was generated through community donor support and the Ray & Peg Hirvonen Foundation.
He said the ribbon cutting and dedication is scheduled for this evening at 7:00 o’clock with some fun surprises and will be followed by the inaugural concert at the facility by the Marquette City Band.
