Toomey said the event gives BLP customers the chance to recycle old, inefficient appliances while earning a rebate for participating.
He explained that accepted items include large and small refrigerators, large and small freezers, room and window air conditioners, and dehumidifiers, and customers can receive a $50 rebate for each qualifying large appliance and $10 for each qualifying small appliance.
Toomey added that the event, which is at the Marquette Board of Light and Power in Marquette at 2200 Wright Street, helps remove outdated appliances from service, promotes energy efficiency, and supports environmentally responsible recycling efforts throughout the community.
