Marquette, MI – June 18, 2026 – Independence Day celebrations are happening soon in Ishpeming, and the call is out for volunteers and parade participants.
Alquaree explained that the group voted a few years ago to move Ishpeming’s celebration to the first Saturday of the month of July to open up more events for the public to enjoy to celebrate America’s independence. However, this year, the first Saturday IS the 4th of July, and there is a need for help!
She said the main events are on Saturday, July 4th with the parade through the downtown at 10:30am, followed by the Community Picnic all day at the Al Quaal Recreation area, followed by fireworks around 10:30pm.
Alquaree added there are several other activities going on, and the full list of events, and a link to sign up to volunteer, is at the Celebration website.
