Marquette, MI – May 21, 2026 – The City of Ishpeming is hosting a pair of open house meetings featuring a presentation on the current fiscal state of the City.
Ishpeming City Manager Randy Scholz spoke about the sessions with Mark & Walt in the Morning.
Scholz said the events are intended to provide an overview of the City’s current financial condition in key areas to keep the community informed and provide transparency on the City’s financial position and outlook.
He added that they are needed because a somewhat precarious financial scenario is unfolding in the City due to a steadily declining general fund balance.
He said the public sessions are at Ishpeming City Hall in Council Chambers on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 6:00pm. This meeting will also be live streamed. The second will be at the Ishpeming Senior Center Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 10:00am.
Scholz explained that both sessions will include the same presentation and an opportunity for questions and discussion following the overview.
