Marquette, MI – April 30, 2026 – A grass-roots effort is continuing in Negaunee to get the word out about a proposal going before voters on May 5th to fund improvements to the Negaunee Ice Arena.
Penney explained that the group is working to keep voters aware of what is at stake with a $1.25 million bond proposal to cover needed repairs to keep the facility operational.
City officials say if the proposal is not approved, it may lead to to the closure of the arena indefinitely.
