Marquette, MI – April 21, 2026 – State Senator Ed McBroom is encouraging U.P. residents, businesses and property owners to record and report damage sustained during recent severe weather events.
McBroom spoke about the need to keep good records with Mark & Walt in the Morning.
The Dickinson County Republican shared an update on efforts by lawmakers in Lansing to ensure assistance gets to people in U.P. counties affected by this season’s severe winter weather.
McBroom says the legislative process to get assistance may get slowed down, but a good thing for all residents to do is to take the time to record any and all storm damage with photos, videos and written descriptions with dates and times of the damage.
He added that the information directly supports response efforts and helps build a better picture of the extent of damages that will be used to determine if federal help is available.
