Marquette, MI – March 30, 2026 – The Marquette City Commission has a regular meeting coming up this evening. The Commission will be voting on submitting a grant application to the Michigan D-N-R to secure $1.6 million in funds to replace the floating piers in the Cinder Pond Marina.
City Manager Karen Kovacs discussed the grant with Mark & Walt in the Morning.
Kovacs explained that the piers were already in need of replacement, but damage to the piers during the recent storms that hit the area have sped up the need.
Tonight’s meeting begins at 6:00pm at Commission Chambers at Marquette City Hall.
